| Spain As I studied spanish for quite a long time, you would think I would have this big thing with the coutrny also, I don't. Don't get me wrong they have some great cities and nature, but it is not more special to me than France or Germany, except that they have a much nicer language of-course. Madrid The frigid capital of the nation, I did not like the poeple, allmost got mugged (police suddenly showed up) and it was too hot and smoggy. Sorry but no thanks Barcelona / Barça To me a much cooler and nicer city than Madrid. Nicer people really cool buildings (I love Gaudi), visit parque guell and the sagrada familia. Salamanca I studied Spanish here in 1992 at one of the oldest universities in the world that is still renowned. The town is beautiful, gorgeous old historic buildings and rich culture and last but not least, a very very vibrant nightlife Figueras Visit the international official Dali Museum. Sitges Near Barcelona (good local train connection) this town attracts a nice mix of mostly local people and a big crowd from the international gay community. The village itself is nice, old buildings and great restaurants. |
