| Accomodation Here a list of B&b's, pensions and hotels I have stayed at, or places I saw passing by. So all of these places have been personally seen by me. This list is not complete yet, and will be updated, Email if you have a specific question or recommendation yourself. And may I make a remark about accomodation in general. These days I allways try to hook up with local people on the internet before I travel somewhere. Not only do they have the best insider information about where to go and what is going on. Often you will find hospitable people all over the world. Like this I have slept at peoples private houses in Paris, Wellington, Amsterdam, Seattle, Vancouver, Sydney and others. Not only is it allways cool to spend time with locals, to get that realy "couleur locale" feeling, also it is a great oppertunity to fill your own house with cool people from all over the world. The same goes for hooking up with people in local café's and really you can feel usually if people are creeps. Getting the feeling of the place your are visiting is just the best, and outways any risks, you have travel insurrance for that... This castle from 1650 is owned by a extremely friendly family Definately worth a trip even, if you ask me, they do a wonderfull job Ask them for their nephews' restaurant in Namur 'au passe simple'. The old but renovated building is situated in one of Paris' oldest quarters, right in the heart of the trendy Marais. Friendly Algerians run the place, it is simple yet clean, ask for a room on a lower floor in between Métro Place de la Bastille (where they have the great fresh market on the boulevard Lenoir on sunday morning) and st. This is a hotel I've only visited and it looks nice and clean, the rooms are simple but clean and the staff is friendly, they seem eager to speak english, which is not typical for Paris. Lovely clean and friendly hotel. Situated on the blvd. Lenoir right where sunday morning they have the marché de paysan... a really great sunday activity. Rooms are small but well furnished airconditioned, and have their own bathroom with toilet and shower. Spain: Barcelona old harbour, Marina hotel FOLCH rates start at PES 5500 / double incl. breakfast. Friendly little hotel in the close to the plaza de Colón, in the centre of Barcelona on the harbour. The old but smashingly renovated building is situated right on walking distance from the famous Charles Bridge. Rooms are bright and very nicely furnished, the atrium creates a nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly and speak Engl. and German. Tramstop Malostranske nám. Friendly family pension right on the edge of old Prague, friendly staff that speaks perfect english. If you have a car and want to save money this is the place to go. It is an old military hotel for soldiers transformed after the revolution. The hotel is simple and straight forward. This sporthotel has a pool, a sportshall and sauna facilities... the rooms are simple and clean and the bungalows in the yard nice and cheap 880 KC per bungalow for up to people. This cute pension has very little rooms it is more or less a private house with 2 or 3 guestrooms. Nice lady, clean room in the centre. Tel from abroad +420.33. 74972 Hruba Skala, Hotel Stehl Pictoresque place to stay, no further details Tel from abroad +420.43. 6916284 Jedovnice (moravia), Kemp Olsevec Camping with bungalows (very basic) and tent space in one of the nicest villages around Macocha, the famous Unesco proteced nature reserve just north from the city of Brno. Visit the purple restaurant in the village it is my favorite restaurant in the world. Next to the camping you will find a lovely lake to swim in. This lovely old colonial house is a really great place to stay, airco, nice and clean rooms and friendly staff, even a sunroof. The price is amazing for a guesthouse on 318 west 22nd Street (near 7th avenue if I remember correctly Mentioned in Spartacus as friendly, they diserve a prize for value!
